Job Purpose
The Cost Control Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling projects costs throughout the projects lifecycle to ensure road and infrastructure projects are delivered within the approved budget. The role involves cost reporting, forecasting, budget tracking, productivity analysis, and supporting project management with timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditures and compare actual costs against budgeted costs.
- Track commitments, variations, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports highlighting cost performance and potential risks.
- Conduct cost variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Commercial, and Project teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
- Monitor labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor productivity and costs.
- Review and verify subcontractor and supplier invoices against approved budgets and progress.
