The ACT Emergency Services Agency Workshop maintains a fleet of high-tech vehicles including fire trucks and aerial appliances, ambulances, and support vehicles used by enabling services.

Annually, the team complete more than 2650 scheduled and unscheduled jobs, both during business hours and out-of-hours recall to duty. With the ever-increasing number of electric vehicles emerging, mechanical technicians will upskill in the coming years to acquire EV qualifications.

Workshop Roles

Workshop Manager: This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the ESA Workshop including daily tasking, management, and development of technicians, operating as the mechanical technical expert/advisor,



and providing quality assurance relating to completed mechanical tasks. Required qualifications for this role include Cert III mechanical light vehicle technology or Cert III mechanical heavy vehicle technology. Mechanical technicians report to this role.

Inventory and Contracts Manager: This role is responsible for the establishment and management of supply contracts related to the Workshop, ensure invoice processing and accounting is completed in a timely manner. The other part to this role is managing the parts interpreter team and ensuring effective inventory management. Key highly desirable qualifications for this role include Cert III Automotive Sales, automotive industry experience, and contract management experience. Parts interpreters report to this role.

Parts Interpreter: This role is responsible for the effective and effective management of parts inventory for the mechanical workshop. Duties include sourcing parts, picking and packing
