Job Profile
- 1. Patient Oriented:
- a. Patient assessment
- b. Explanation of the investigation/procedure to be performed
- c. Patient counseling before investigation/procedure
- d. Obtaining consent of the patient
- e. Patient & relative counseling (post procedure/investigation)
- f. To perform all the investigations as per the need
- g. To read all the imaging films and makes accurate reports
- h. To confirm the work of the medical transcriptionist before finalizing and signing the reports
- 2. Inventory Oriented:
- a. Check all records at least twice/ month
- 3. Medication related:
- a. Prescription of medication
- b. Providing written instruction to the nursing staff about dose
- c. Duration/ site / precaution
- d. Educate patient and staff
- e. Check all records at least once / week
- 4. Department related:
- a. Formulating department policies (along with General Manager)
- b. Smooth functioning of the department (along with General Manager)
- c. Explaining department policy and procedures to the current staff.
- d.
Periodic checking of all registers maintained in the department.
- e. Supervision of technicians/ nursing staff
- f. To keep in touch with the management regarding the happenings of the department
- g. To act as a spokesperson of the department
- h. Overall responsibility of the department
- 5. Additional Responsibilities if any –
- a. To conduct OPDs in the allotted time slots and ensure that OPD starts at time.
- b. To evaluate patients requiring admission and refer the patient for admission.
- c. Ensure highest level of patient care.
- d. Ensure operational readiness of the department all the times.
- e. Supervise the well being of patient admitted under them.
- f. Conduct rounds and be overall responsible for medical well being of the patients admitted under him / her.
- g. Take minimum 2 rounds per day to visit the patients admitted under their care.
- h. Prescribe drugs as far as possible that are available in the
