We are looking for UCoE engineers to support ongoing and upcoming upgrade activities. The role requires robust Linux/Kubernetes expertise, an automation mindset, and hands-on experience performing upgrades in on-prem and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). The candidate must be comfortable working in high-pressure production upgrade environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation and upgrade of applications.
- Execute upgrades in both Client and Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
- Execute and support upgrade strategies such as ISSU and canary deployments.
- Automate upgrade and operational tasks using scripting and Python.
- Troubleshoot upgrade issues across application, Kubernetes, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Perform post-upgrade sanity validation and basic functional checks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UCoE, DevOps, Architects, Product teams) to ensure smooth upgrade execution.
- Use monitoring and observability tools to validate system health and performance post-upgrade.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Strong expertise in Linux system administration and scripting.
- Hands-on experience in Python, SQL, and database architecture.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Kubernetes certification (CKA or equivalent) – mandatory.
- Strong experience in microservices-based application installation and upgrade.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and DevOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and application layers.
- Familiarity with DevOps, monitoring, and observability tools.
- Comfortable working in high-pressure upgrade environments.
