AWS Cloud Migration Architect (Offshore)
Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior AWS Cloud Migration Architect to lead a large-scale enterprise cloud transformation initiative involving the migration of approximately 300 servers to AWS.
This is a hands-on architecture and technical leadership role requiring proven experience delivering enterprise-scale AWS migration programs from assessment through production cutover. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, security, networking, and business stakeholders to define and execute the migration strategy while ensuring minimal business disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end migration of approximately 300 servers into AWS.
- Define the overall AWS migration strategy, migration waves, and execution roadmap.
- Conduct infrastructure and application discovery, dependency mapping, and migration planning.
- Design secure, scalable, and highly available AWS landing zones.
- Lead migration planning using AWS migration best practices and frameworks.
- Architect migration approaches including:
- Rehost (Lift & Shift)
- Replatform
- Refactor where appropriate
- Design AWS networking including:
- VPCs
- Transit Gateway
- VPN
- Direct Connect
- Route 53
- Design resilient compute architectures using:
- Amazon EC2
- Auto Scaling
- Elastic Load Balancing
- Amazon EBS
- Amazon EFS
- Lead storage migration strategies.
- Design backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity architectures.
- Work closely with security teams to implement AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, and AWS Organizations.
- Define infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation).
- Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and validation processes.
- Provide technical leadership throughout migration execution.
- Mentor engineering teams and review solution designs.
- Collabor
