Core Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Wash walls, remove old paint, fill cracks/holes with putty, and sand surfaces to create a smooth base.
- Site Protection: Cover furniture, floors, and fixtures with drop cloths and masking tape to protect them from paint drips.
- Application: Mix paints to the correct shades and apply them evenly using brushes, rollers, or industrial sprayers.
- Safety: Set up ladders and scaffolding, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) like respirators and goggles.
Essential Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record as a qualified painter, with strong knowledge of painting techniques and coatings.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift heavy materials.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent hand-eye coordination and an eye for color matching and clean finishes.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, often paired with completed apprenticeship programs or technical training.
