Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling & Drafting: Create accurate 3D models and detailed, production-ready 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Design Development: Develop new mechanical components, assemblies, and Specialized Purpose Machines (SPMs).
- Analysis & Simulation: Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to validate designs, often using SolidWorks Simulation.
- Documentation & Revisions: Maintain CAD libraries, engineering change notices (ECN), and BOM (Bill of Materials).
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot design issues and ensure manufacturability (DFM).
- Prototypes: Design and test functional prototypes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Software: Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (solid modeling, surfacing, assemblies).
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience in sheet metal design, machining, welding, or injection molding.
