About Oil and Gas Technology: OGT is a team of around 200 scientists and engineers who develop and provide pioneering solutions to support bp’s Production and Operations (P&O;) and Gas and Low Carbon Energy (G&LCE;) businesses.
The Reservoir Recovery Unit sits in OGT team, part of Applied Sciences Technology. The team is part of the 60-strong Subsurface and Wells group, working closely with P&O; to develop innovative technological solutions addressing both near- and longer-term challenges. The Reservoir Recovery Unit is the home of the Agile Displacement laboratory, which provides unique experimental capability and delivers data across waterflood/gasflood, special core analysis (SCAL, including relative permeability),



enhanced oil recovery, production assurance (production chemistry) and wells technology.
You will join the Reservoir Recovery Laboratory team and carrying out lab-based experimentation in support of regional studies in the areas of dynamic displacement, wells technology and geothermal.
Job Purpose and primary objectives:
You will conduct experiments, be involved in experiment design and complete quality assurance to provide data and insights to the upstream stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver R&D; and technical service experimental projects.
- Measure and quality assure laboratory data using a range of sophisticated equipment over a range of chemical and physical conditions, including reservoir conditions, following detailed written procedures.
