We are looking for an experienced safety officer to assist in ensuring a safe working environment on construction sites by supporting the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Monitor the use of safety equipment and ensure it is in good, working condition.
Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks on the construction site.
Recommend and implement preventative measures to mitigate identified risks.
Provide basic safety training and education to workers and contractors.
Ensure all staff members are aware of and understand safety protocols and procedures.
Prepare detailed incident reports and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Investigate accidents and near-misses to identify areas for improvement.
Support the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and regulations.
