Purpose of the position:
The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for temperature measurement solutions based on customer datasheets, drawings, and technical specifications. This role requires solid technical understanding of multipoint thermocouples and engineered temperature systems, combined with commercial acumen to support sales and project teams.
Main task
Description (responsibilities / roles)
Quotation Development
- Analyse customer datasheets, P&IDs;, and drawings to prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.
- Select appropriate multipoint thermocouple designs and accessories based on application requirements.
Costing & Pricing
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, manufacturing, and installation.
- Ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and compliance with company standards.
Technical Review
- Interpret customer specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, IEC).
- Coordinate with engineering teams for design validation and feasibility checks.
Customer Interaction
- Clarify technical queries and provide timely responses to clients.
- Support sales team during pre-bid and post-bid discussions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare proposal documents, technical datasheets, and compliance statements.
- Maintain records of quotations and track proposal status.
