Conservation Expert
Educational Qualification:
Graduate degree in Archaeology, Architecture, or any other related discipline
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in construction supervision and/or Quality Control
Proven experience in conservation, renovation, or restoration of heritage sites, monuments, or other historically significant structures
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise for conservation, renovation, and restoration works of heritage sites and related structures
Review and ensure compliance of conservation drawings, methodologies, and technical specifications with approved standards, guidelines, and statutory requirements
Supervise site activities to ensure authenticity, quality workmanship, and adherence to conservation principles
Monitor quality control procedures for traditional materials, workmanship, and conservation techniques
Review contractor’s method statements, conservation approaches, and material sourcing proposals
Conduct inspections and testing of materials to ensure compatibility with existing heritage fabric
Guide site teams on appropriate conservation practices and traditional construction techniques
Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues while maintaining historical integrity
Coordinate with contractors, conservation architects, archaeologists, and statutory authorities
Verify measurements and assist in certification of quantities and payments
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and photographic records of conservation works
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and heritage protection regulations at site
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of heritage conservation principles and practices
Experience with restoration of historic buildings, monuments, and traditional structures
Familiarity with national and international conservation guidelines and standards
Valuable documentation, coordination, and communication skills
