Working as a Senior/ Principal Drainage Engineer in the Highways team, you’ll gain exposure to a varied portfolio of project work, supporting both client-side and design-and-build environments across publicly funded and private developer projects.
You will undertake engineering design and development through the application of proven techniques and procedures to develop appropriate solutions to customer problems, including:
Performing and managing drainage design activities for major highways and infrastructure projects in line with agreed specifications, DMRB requirements and UK drainage standards to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
Delivering preliminary and detailed drainage designs through to construction, including drainage assessments, design reports and technical submissions.
Working in close collaboration with our team and other disciplines to provide fully co-ordinated 3-D designs in line with our digital plan of works and client BIM requirements.
Using specialist software such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage,
AutoCAD and Civils 3D to produce high-quality drainage solutions.
Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues and, where practicable, mentoring and development support.
Ensuring deliverables are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
Working closely with clients, contractors, National Highways and Local Authorities, and supporting site-based delivery where required.
Ensuring all work is carried out in line with the Company’s IMS and current health and safety legislation requirements.
Supporting innovative practices and helping identify efficiencies and improvements in project delivery.
To be successful in this role you’ll possess:
A relevant degree and either have, or be working towards, a relevant qualified qualification. Chartered Engineer status is required for consideration at Principal Engineer level.
