Role Overview
Design, build, and support mission-critical mainframe applications powering high-volume core banking transactions. Drive reliability, performance, and integration of legacy systems within a modern, API-driven enterprise ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Develop & enhance COBOL/CICS/DB2/JCL applications for core banking, payments, settlements, and reporting
Maintain 24x7 production systems, ensuring stability in high-throughput environments
Optimize DB2 performance (complex queries, indexing, stored procedures) to improve response time and scalability
Troubleshoot production issues using Abend-AID, XPEDITER; perform root cause analysis and permanent fixes
Automate batch pipelines using JCL and REXX; manage batch recovery and restart strategies
Collaborate with distributed teams to enable API-led integration and modernization initiatives
Participate in Agile ceremonies, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers
Mandatory Technical Skills
Core: COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL (hands-on development)
DB2 Expertise: Query optimization, stored procedures, performance tuning




Batch Processing: Job control, scheduling, recovery handling
Debugging: Abend-AID, XPEDITER
