WSP are looking for Sr Engineer – BESS with over ten years’ experience of overall responsibility of robust engineering design, sizing, installation, configuration testing and commissioning, co-ordination including site supervision of works with emphasis on meeting the contract requirements with respect to quality, time and budget.
Responsibilities
Review of the RFP/tender document, presentation of various system design cases of BESS philosophy, preparation of SLD and a high level BOQ in line with the tender document.
Review and benchmarking of International RFPs and undertake best practices.
Bid strategy: BESS sizing and business case review.
Evaluation of techno-commercial proposals from selected BESS integrators and EPC contractors.
Preparation of technical specification for Battery system in accordance with the tender basis on which Vendor evaluation, comparison and selection.
Identifications of Risks, both in the technical domain and contractually, and mitigation of those risks.
Energy forecasting in case of Solar + BESS project. Energy available at the grid level, Energy available for charging the BESS system. Duration of charging and schedule of charging to be decided accordingly and same as per the tender requirement.
Conduct long term simulation till the PPA life and predict battery degradation to factor in augmentation or replacement.
Selection of battery chemistry based on power and cycle requirement, PCS sizing. Topology selection considering curtailment, clipping loss and RFP requirements.
Assess the ongoing trends and latest developments with respect to the deployment of the battery energy storage solutions coupled with Solar projects. Collection of reliable performance data of battery
