8+ years of strong experience in Mainframe performance specially Application performance tuning and optimization
Strong knowledge and expertise with programming and performance tuning of Online and Batch applications comprising DB2, CICS, PL/1, COBOL, MQ, JCL, SYNCSORT, Utilities, Datasets and Storage
Excellent working experience with performance management tools and products (like DB2 Explain, RMFMON 3, Strobe, APA, CICS Performance Analyzer and the Omegamon products)
Robust knowledge of SMF record types and sub-types
Ability to drive proactive performance management
Have experience in reporting, presentations, Excel and other reporting tools
Prior experience as Mainframe System programmer and or capacity planning is also a plus
Analyse Mainframe Applications performance for both batch and online and recommend Application tuning opportunities
Provide recommendations to Application Development organizations for applications tuning
Help and guide Development organizations to implement tuning recommendations
Follow-up proactively with development organizations to track progress on tuning recommendations
Continuous exploration for optimization opportunities in Mainframe Systems and Online/Batch applications by gained experience and knowledge
Create & present performance reports/metrics with recommendations for best-in-class efficiency solutions
Report status to Management / stakeholders on overall tuning initiatives
