The Electrical EOT Crane Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring the maximum uptime, safety, and operational efficiency of all EOT cranes during their assigned shift. This includes supervising shift technicians, executing planned maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical faults, and responding swiftly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Breakdown & Maintenance Management

Rapid Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and rectify electrical issues in EOT cranes during the shift.

Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled daily, weekly, or shift-specific PM checklists.

Shift Handover: Conduct smooth shift handovers, documenting all ongoing issues, major breakdowns, and pending maintenance tasks for the next shift.

2. Technical Expertise & Safety Compliance

Safety Isolation:



Strictly implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures before any maintenance work.

Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect critical safety devices.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Participate in analyzing recurring electrical failures to implement permanent engineering solutions.

3. Team Supervision & Resource Management

Supervision: Lead and deploy a shift team of electrical technicians and assistants effectively.

Inventory Control: Maintain availability of critical shift spares (e.g., fuses, contactors, limit switches, and relays) and report shortages.

Log Keeping: Maintain accurate shift logs, breakdown reports, and update maintenance data in systems like SAP.
