THOMAS F. GALLIVAN, JR. CHAIR OF REAL PROPERTY LAW
The University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Law seeks applications from lateral candidates for the Thomas F. Gallivan, Jr. Chair of Real Property Law. This is a tenured faculty position reserved for an outstanding scholar with an international or national reputation for excellence in property law scholarship, teaching, and service. Candidates for the Gallivan Chair should have an ambitious research agenda that seeks to shape contemporary conversations in property, land use and/or real estate law. We welcome applications from candidates pursuing cutting-edge work within these areas that involve issues such as housing, local government, environmental law, and resiliency.
The Gallivan Chair will be expected to provide vision and leadership through scholarly research and engagement at major national and international conferences and symposia, along with developing innovative Law School program and academic offerings. The Chair will also be expected to engage with members of the Connecticut real property bar.
The position provides discretionary endowment funds to support research, to build relationships with property scholars, practitioners, and policymakers, and to engage with the broader legal community. The Gallivan Chair presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Center for Energy & Environmental Law, the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (circa.uconn.edu), and other partners throughout the University. The UConn School of Law is especially interested in candidates who will add to the diversity of our faculty and community.
