Dognosis's clinical pipeline, EHR platform, and diagnostic workflows are scaling across hospital sites, and the backend systems powering them need to scale with them. We are looking for a backend engineer to own the product infrastructure behind clinician portals, lab operations, sample traceability, and consumer-facing health applications.

About Dognosis
Dognosis digitizes canine cognition to detect 30+ human cancers from a single breath sample, with accuracy exceeding standard-of-care diagnostics and at a cost low enough to scale across entire populations. We are backed by top-tier VCs across India, the US, Israel, and Europe (including Accel India), have published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and collaborate with UCL, Narayana Health, and Medical Detection Dogs. We are pre-revenue, well-funded, and entering prospective clinical validation.

The System
Dognosis runs a multi-site clinical study collecting breath samples across hospitals in Karnataka. Every sample moves through a chain: patient consent in our EHR app, QR-coded kit tracking, cold-chain logistics, canine testing,



and risk-score reporting. The backend systems this role owns (oneapi2, the EHR portal, and the BreathEasy traceability pipeline) are the connective tissue holding that chain together, built on PostgreSQL, Rust, and AWS.

What You Will Do
- Build and maintain backend services in Rust (Actix-web/Axum) powering EHR data capture, sample traceability, and clinical reporting
- Design and evolve PostgreSQL schemas for patient records, consent workflows, sample lifecycle tracking, and audit trails
- Develop APIs for clinician portals, lab operations dashboards, and consumer-facing health applications
- Implement role-based access control, data privacy patterns, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, DPDP, ISO 27001)
- Own deployment pipelines (Docker, GitLab CI/CD) and operational reliability for production backend services
