- Enterprise Data Catalog organized by data domains and design and implement a 'catalog of catalogs' using the Alation Enterprise Data Marketplace, which allows the unification of multiple Alation catalogs as a single catalog with separate domains.
- Onboard existing Alation Data Catalogs to the Enterprise Data Marketplace Catalog.
- Automated data access request and approval workflows, orchestrating and automating all the required approval steps for each domain in the Data Marketplace and for each type of access pattern (e.g., single user requesting direct Snowflake access for a data product, single user requesting access to a data product via a BI tool, a group of users requesting access to a data product via a Snowflake data share).
Approval steps may include but not be limited to approval from a Data Product Owner, Data Access Approver, and a Governance Board. The access request workflow will need to be integrated with external systems including Alation, Snowflake, and Service Now.
- Setup automated security onboarding for the recent data products and execute and document validation and testing.
- Configure and enable metadata management, business glossary, data lineage, and observability for identified data domains using Alation's native connectors out of box features and execute validation testing of the configured catalog.
