Job Description

At WSP – India GCC, the Senior Engineer – Highways is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of high-quality Roads & Highways design outputs, ensuring with Swedish engineering standards across all project stages. The role involves early-stage design involvement, proactive planning, and ownership of deliverables, with a solid focus on quality, timelines, and technical excellence in developing sustainable and efficient highway infrastructure.

Working within the Nordic (Swedish) business, the role requires leading geometric design, roadway modelling, and preparation of design documentation while managing multiple projects simultaneously. The Senior Engineer collaborates closely with teams across India and Sweden, ensuring seamless coordination, adherence to lead country requirements, and successful delivery of all project outputs with full accountability having relevant design/ junior team supervision.

Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Delivery:
Lead the design packages and delivery of highway design solutions, ensuring compliance with applicable standards,



codes, and safety requirements while reporting to the Principal Engineer/Project Manager.
Take ownership of preparing and reviewing highway designs and drawings using tools such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Novapoint, etc., ensuring technical accuracy and quality.
Undertake detailed roadway design including alignments, junctions/intersections, carriageways, superelevation, and associated roadside features such as footways, cycleways, access points, and safety systems.
Plan, manage, and track design deliverables to meet project timelines, quality benchmarks, and regulatory requirements.
Project Management & Coordination:
Support project planning by contributing to cost estimates, progress schedules, and resource allocation, considering project complexity and constraints.
