Job Summary
The Physician Assistant – Urology will support the Consultant Urologist in providing patient care, coordinating clinical activities, assisting in procedures, maintaining medical records, and ensuring smooth patient management within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Urologists during OPD consultations, ward rounds, and procedures.
- Take patient history and record clinical findings.
- Coordinate patient admissions, investigations, and discharge processes.
- Monitor patients before and after procedures/surgeries as instructed by the consultant.
- Review investigation reports and update consultants on patient status.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the HMIS.
- Educate patients and relatives regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate with nursing, diagnostic, and other clinical departments for seamless patient care.
- Ensure timely completion of discharge summaries and clinical documentation.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control practices, and quality standards.
Qualification
- BAMS / BHMS (Mandatory)
- Registration with respective State Medical Council.
Experience
- 0–3 years of clinical experience.
- Experience in a hospital setting or specialty department will be preferred.
Skills Required
- Basic clinical assessment and patient management.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of hospital processes and HMIS.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Willingness to work in shifts and emergency situations.
