Responsibilities

* Use finite element analysis and other analytical tools to develop products
that meet internal and/or external customer requirements
* Support and enhance processes and procedures significant to product
development
* Translate product requirements into product design features
* Work in a team setting towards bringing new product technologies to
market
* Strong communication skills [written/oral] in presenting data and information
to others
* Contribute to ideas for new computational tools in the prediction of tire
performance
* Mentor / coach associates in the development of technical capabilities

Education

* Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred – Mechanical
Engineering or related discipline.

Requirements

* 4+ years of progressive experience required using finite element
methodologies.
* Good knowledge of structural mechanics/dynamics and/or fluid dynamics
* Good knowledge of Finite Element Analysis fundamentals, especially nonlinear
FEA
* Working knowledge of FEA tools such as Abaqus, Ansys etc.




* Working knowledge of 3D CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA V5, etc...) software and their
applications is preferred
* Programming or scripting skills such as Python etc. are considered a plus.
* Basic applied statistics, Design of Experiments and multi-regression
modeling, cause-and-effect analysis, risk analysis, lean principles
* Ability to accomplish assignments in a logical fashion, using existing
technology and standardized methodologies
* Demonstrates strong analytical skills and innovative problem-solving,
emphasizing cooperative teamwork
* Ability to form strong working relationships with Goodyear associates (Global
& cross-functional) and customers
* Effectively communicates and sells ideas related to project requirements and
goals
* Ability to adapt to new challenges
* Develop clear and concise technical reports summarizing highlights and making
recommendations for logical next steps
