Role & responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with obstetric and gynaecological conditions in IPD, labour room, emergency, and operation theatre.
- Monitor antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal patients and provide evidence-based clinical care.
- Conduct normal vaginal deliveries independently and assist or perform operative deliveries as per clinical competence and institutional protocols.
- Assist consultants in elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological surgeries.
- Manage obstetric emergencies such as postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, pre-eclampsia, ectopic pregnancy, and other high-risk conditions.
- Evaluate and manage common gynaecological disorders, including menstrual abnormalities, infertility, pelvic pain, infections, and menopausal concerns.
- Perform routine obstetric and gynaecological procedures within the scope of training and competency.




- Participate in emergency on-call duties, ICU referrals, and multidisciplinary patient management.

Patient Care Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, procedures, pregnancy care, contraception, and follow-up.
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation in patient medical records.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, neonatologists, anaesthetists, and other departments for comprehensive patient care.

Academic Responsibilities
- Participate actively in departmental academic activities, including case presentations, journal clubs, seminars, CMEs, and clinical discussions.
- Assist in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students as assigned.
- Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and quality improvement projects.
