The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving profitable revenue growth across Airtel Africa's Non-OpCo markets by acquiring new customers, penetrating through new products, and increasing adoption of Airtel Africa's connectivity and wholesale solutions.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role requiring a strong hunter mindset with the ability to identify, develop, and close opportunities across Internet Service Providers, Carriers, Mobile Operators and other wholesale customers. The role will also focus on growing existing customer relationships through cross-selling and upselling Airtel Africa's expanding portfolio of digital connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Acquisition
- Identify, develop, and acquire current customers across Non-OpCo markets to drive incremental revenue.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, market intelligence, and customer engagement.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers, influencers,
and executive stakeholders within target accounts.
- Lead end-to-end sales cycles including opportunity qualification, solution positioning, commercial negotiations, contract closure, and handover for service delivery.
- Achieve assigned revenue, margin, and new logo acquisition targets.
Account Growth & Portfolio Expansion
- Drive revenue growth within existing customer accounts through strategic account planning and relationship development.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling Airtel Africa's connectivity and wholesale portfolio.
- Increase Airtel Africa's share of wallet by introducing new products and expanding service adoption across customer locations.
- Build long-term executive relationships that enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
