Principal Engineers lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, and processes while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. They are recognized throughout the Division as an emerging expert.
In this role the successful candidate will help author and invent the next generation of embedded DSP hardware and software. Leveraging technology trends and their own expertise, the successful candidate will disrupt both cost and user experience to lead the professional audio industry.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, but will help contextualize technical opportunities for peers and junior talent as well as serve as a mentor to junior members of the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- This engineer will work in a collaborative setting to create audio products designed for global markets for Harman Professional.
- Develop change plan for projects to ensure successful implementation
- Ensure product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications, and cost targets
- Drive breakthrough ideas and world-class research into product organizations
- Conduct technology evaluation and assessment of software and hardware tools, component technologies, and systems
- Collaborate with a heterogeneous group of end-to-end prototyping and research engineers (hardware software), interaction and visual designers, software and hardware developers
- This engineer will work in a collaborative environment to create audio products designed for global markets for Harman Professional.
- The engineer will be responsible for driving daily hardware development activities as part of a project team. Additionally, there will be assignments for department systems and processes that advance engineering efficiency,
