Core Responsibilities:
- Create drawings based on redlines provided by others.
- Perform QC checks on CAD drawings to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Size and design components using O-rings.
- Design sheet metal parts for custom enclosures.
- Manage the ECO (Engineering Change Order) process by identifying impacted parts and correctly dispositioning affected parts.
- Release drawings through the ECO process and Epicor system, ensuring understanding of change impacts across departments.
- Develop multi-level BOMs (Bill of Materials) for top-level assemblies.
- Follow established CAD file management procedures.
Expanded Responsibilities:
- Participate in engineering project reviews for quotes and sales orders.
- Interface with customers for drawing approvals.
- Collaborate with customers and inside sales teams to manage scope changes.
- Establish LCR (Low-Cost Region) supply chains to achieve cost savings and support new designs.
- Manage Value Analysis (VA) projects.
- Provide Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) support with direct customer interaction.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3 years of relevant experience in Mechanical design engineering and Electro-Mechanical system integration.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring schematics, pneumatic systems, and circuits.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, including fasteners, welding, and material selection.
- Solid knowledge of BOM development and ECO processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software, (with experience in Solid Edge), and adherence to CAD file management standards.
- Experience working with PLM software.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor experience is an added advantage).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and cross-functional team interaction.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
