Job Title: Senior Captain

Department: Food & Beverage Service / Café Operations

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Café Manager / Operations Manager

Employment Type: Full time

Job Purpose

The Senior Captain is responsible for supervising the daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, coordinating with the kitchen, and leading the service team to deliver a seamless dining experience while maintaining company standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Welcome and assist guests professionally.
- Ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service.
- Handle guest queries, complaints, and special requests efficiently.
- Build positive guest relationships to enhance customer satisfaction.

Service Operations
- Supervise the service team during shifts.
- Allocate sections and responsibilities to Captains and Stewards.
- Ensure accurate order taking and timely service.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor table turnover and service flow.

Team Management
- Train and mentor new team members.




- Conduct daily shift briefings.
- Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, and discipline.
- Motivate the team to achieve service excellence.

Cash & Billing
- Ensure accurate billing and payment collection.
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company cash-handling procedures.

Hygiene & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are followed.
- Ensure SOPs and service standards are consistently implemented.

Inventory
- Monitor service equipment and restaurant supplies.
- Report shortages, breakages, or maintenance issues.

Skills Required
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of restaurant service standards.
- Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic POS and billing knowledge.

Qualification
- Graduate or Dipl
