The Junior Accountant is responsible for maintaining day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, assisting in statutory compliance, and supporting the Accounts Department in all financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting
- Record all purchase, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
- Maintain cash book, bank book, and petty cash records.
- Verify supplier invoices and customer billing.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipt vouchers, and journal vouchers.
- Update daily accounting transactions in ERP/Tally/Gofrugal software.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up for collections.
- Process vendor payments as per approved schedules.
- Reconcile customer and supplier ledger accounts regularly.
Bank & Cash Management
- Perform daily bank reconciliation (BRS).
- Monitor cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with banks for financial transactions when required.
Inventory & Retail Support
- Verify inventory-related accounting entries.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, and Warehouse teams.
- Assist in stock reconciliation and inventory audits.
GST & Statutory Compliance
- Assist in GST data preparation and reconciliation.
- Support TDS calculations and documentation.
- Maintain statutory records and accounting documents.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
Reporting
- Prepare Daily Cash Report.
- Prepare Weekly Accounts Report.
- Prepare Monthly MIS Reports.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / BBA (Finance) or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of experience (Freshers may also apply).
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
- Basic knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Experience in Tally, Gofrugal, or ERP softwar
