The Head – Manufacturing / Production will lead end-to-end shop-floor operations for a scaling hydraulic cylinder manufacturing business transitioning from export-driven aftermarket production to OEM-ready, multi-sector manufacturing.
The role is responsible for building a high-efficiency, quality-driven, and scalable manufacturing system capable of handling high-mix aftermarket requirements while meeting OEM standards for precision, repeatability, and delivery reliability.
This position integrates operational excellence, capacity planning, cost control, and workforce productivity to support aggressive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manufacturing Strategy & Capacity Planning
- Develop production roadmaps aligned with growth targets
- Plan scalable capacity for aftermarket and OEM demand
- Optimize plant layout and workflow efficiency
- Support capex planning and equipment upgrades
2. Production Excellence & Throughput Management
- Ensure reliable execution of production schedules
- Improve cycle time and throughput
- Minimize bottlenecks and downtime
- Balance high-mix customization with standardized production
3. Quality & Process Discipline
- Integrate OEM-level manufacturing standards
- Reduce defects, rework, and warranty issues
- Institutionalize process control and validation
- Strengthen traceability and documentation(Odoo)
4. Cost & Productivity Management
- Drive Shopfloor Discipline System
- Improve yield and material utilization
- Optimize labour productivity
- Monitor manufacturing cost performance
5. Aftermarket Responsiveness
- Enable quick turnaround for customized builds
- Improve production flexibility
- Reduce lead times
6. Cross-Functional Integration
- Collaborate with design for manufacturability
