Thumbi Stories (by Void Vector Ventures LLP) is a Kozhikode-based kids' storytelling startup. We build a WiFi-connected audio storytelling companion for children that delivers fresh stories and daily updates — screen-lite and designed to keep kids off phones. Alongside the device, we create personalized picture books where the child becomes the hero of the story, rooted in Kerala folklore and culture, in Malayalam, English, and other regional languages.
We were one of the Kerala startups selected by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) to represent the state at Startup Mahakumbh 2025
in Current Delhi — India's largest startup event. We're a small team of 4, moving fast and building something genuinely new in the kids' content space.
What you'll do:
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini,
image generators like Midjourney/Imagen/OpenArt) to create custom children's stories and illustrations
- Draw and do paint-over work by hand to fix and polish AI images — we don't have a separate illustrator, so you'll own the full art
- Generate consistent characters across a full book — same character looking the same on every page
- Edit and lay out books using Canva and Adobe tools (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign)
- Build personalized storybooks featuring real kids as the main character
- Write and adapt stories in regional languages (Malayalam and others)
We're looking for someone who:
- Can both draw/illustrate by hand AND use AI image tools — the mix is essential
- Knows Canva and Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) for editing and layout
- Is genuinely good at prompting for text and images, and knows the tricks for character consistency
- Writes well for children (ages ~4–9)
