Position: Accountant
Reports to: Partner
Experience: 2–5 years
Qualification: B.Com / M.Com Type: Full time, in-office

Role Summary

Own the firm's internal accounting end-to-end, and handle GST and TDS compliance for a portfolio of client entities. This is a hands-on individual contributor role — you will do the work, not delegate it. You report directly to a Partner and are expected to close routine work without being chased.

Key Responsibilities

*Firm Accounting (V. B. Goel & Co. books)*
- Maintain complete books of account in TallyPrime — sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals, contra
- Raise client invoices, track receivables, follow up on outstanding fees, and maintain an ageing statement
- Record and reconcile all firm expenses; maintain vendor ledgers and process payments
- Monthly bank reconciliation across all firm accounts
- Maintain the fixed asset register and compute depreciation




- Compute and deposit advance tax; prepare the firm's annual financial statements for Partner review
- Prepare the firm's income tax return and partner-level ITRs using Winman
- Maintain payroll — salary computation, statutory deductions, PF/PT where applicable

*TDS Compliance — Firm and Clients*
- Determine TDS applicability and correct section/rate across payment types (194C, 194J, 194I, 194H, 194Q, 192, 195 where relevant)
- Compute monthly TDS liability and ensure challan deposit by the 7th of the following month for the firm and all assigned clients
- Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns — Form 24Q (salary), 26Q (non-salary resident), 27Q (non-resident), 27EQ (TCS) — within statutory due dates
- Generate and issue Form 16 / 16A from TRACES to employees and deductees
- Reconcile TDS deducted per books against Form 26AS and the TRACES ledger; identify and resolve mismatches
- File correction statements for short deduction, short payment, PAN errors, and challan mismatch defaults
