We are looking for a Manual Designer with 4 to 6 years of experience in open footwear pattern development and grading
Role & responsibilities
1. Pattern Development
- Develop manual patterns for open footwear (EVA, PVC, PU, Fabrication, etc.).
- Prepare accurate, production-ready upper patterns based on approved designs.
- Ensure pattern accuracy, symmetry, and manufacturability.
2. Pattern Grading
- Manage the complete grading process for all size ranges.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency across graded size sets.
- Maintain grading standards and revision records.
3. Fitting & Pattern Approval
- Conduct fitting evaluations and identify fit-related issues.
- Revise patterns based on fitting feedback.
- Issue final pattern approval before commercialization.
- Coordinate with NPD, mould, and production teams for final confirmation.
4. Commercialization
- Release finalized patterns for pilot and bulk production.
- Support initial production trials and resolve pattern-related issues.
- Ensure all approved changes are incorporated before production.
5. Die Development
- Prepare and validate cutting die layouts.
- Coordinate die development and modifications with suppliers.
- Maintain die records and revisions.
6. Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with Design, NPD, Production, QA, Sourcing, and Vendors.
- Maintain pattern master files, grading sheets, fit reports, and commercialization documents with proper version control.
Preferred candidate profile
- 4 to 6 years of experience in manual pattern making and grading for open footwear.
- Strong knowledge of footwear construction, grading, and fitting.
- Experience in commercialization and die development.
- Valuable coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience as a Shoe Master is preferred and will be an added advantage.
