We're Summon, a startup based in Paris building humanoids for service, facility management, and industry. We are looking for an Embedded & Robot Security Engineer to own security across our robot stack, from hardware and onboard compute to sensors, communications, and (optionally) the AI systems that help detect intrusions and anomalies in the field.
You'll be responsible for hardening a physical robot that operates autonomously in shared human spaces, a very different problem from securing a web app or enterprise network. If you think in terms of attack surfaces on real hardware, not just firewalls and endpoints, this role is for you.
segmentation across onboard compute and fleet connectivity
- Robotics protocol security (ROS2/DDS, CAN bus)
- Threat modelling and incident response for hardware deployed in the field
What we're looking for:
- Solid grounding in embedded systems and hardware security fundamentals
- Programming knowledge relevant to embedded/security work (C/C++, Python, Rust or similar)
- Hands-on offensive security experience is a robust plus
- Familiarity with ROS2/DDS or robotics protocols is a plus
- (Optional) ML/AI knowledge for intrusion detection is optional but a bonus
Nice to have:
- ML-based anomaly/intrusion detection on sensor or network telemetry
- Familiarity with adversarial robustness
