Job Title: Dispatch Team Manager

Shift Time: 5pm to 3am

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Dispatch Team Manager to lead and scale our dispatch operations. This role is critical in ensuring freight movements are executed seamlessly, carrier relationships are strengthened, and operational efficiency is maximized. The Dispatch Team Manager will oversee a team of dispatchers, provide strategic direction, and act as the bridge between carrier sales, operations, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of dispatchers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
- Instill a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement in a high-volume setting.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs to enhance team skills in negotiation, communication, and operational execution.

Operational Oversight
- Ensure all loads are covered promptly with vetted carriers while protecting company margins.
- Oversee dispatch instructions,



pickup/delivery scheduling, and compliance with carrier vetting standards (authority, insurance, safety ratings).
- Monitor team adherence to check call protocols and tracking software to provide real-time visibility to customers and sales teams.
- Resolve escalated issues such as breakdowns, weather delays, detention claims, and service failures with a solution-oriented approach.

Strategic Execution
- Develop and implement dispatch workflows that reduce cost per mile and improve on-time delivery metrics.
- Maintain market intelligence on capacity trends, hot/cold lanes, and rate fluctuations to guide dispatch strategy.
- Collaborate with the team to align dispatch execution with broader revenue and margin goals.
- Partner with Finance to monitor detention, accessorials, and claims impact on profitability.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure dispatch operations comply with FMCSA regulations and company saf
