Reports to: Shift In-Charge
Purpose
To safely operate and monitor Drum Dryer and Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) systems for achieving production targets while maintaining product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Drum Dryer and ATFD equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, steam flow, feed rate, vacuum, and product quality.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities as per production requirements.
- Ensure maximum productivity, equipment utilization, and process efficiency.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report abnormalities to the Shift In-Charge.
- Record process parameters, production data, downtime, and shift activities in logbooks and reports.
- Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping of the equipment and work area.
- Assist maintenance personnel during preventive maintenance and breakdown activities.
- Monitor product quality and coordinate with the Quality Department for corrective actions when required.
- Ensure proper handling of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and GMP requirements applicable to the plant.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of industrial drying systems and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to monitor process parameters and maintain production records.
- Understanding of safety procedures and good manufacturing practices.
- Valuable troubleshooting and observation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and shift environment.
