Qualification
- Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH (Preferred)
- Good knowledge of construction safety standards and statutory compliance.
Job Summary
The Construction Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining health and safety practices at the construction site. The role ensures compliance with applicable safety laws, company policies, and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture to prevent accidents and injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure all employees and contractors comply with safety rules and regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs.
- Monitor the use of PPE and ensure proper safety equipment is available.
- Prepare and maintain safety records, inspection reports,
and incident reports.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure work permits are issued and followed for high-risk activities.
- Inspect scaffolding, ladders, lifting equipment, and excavation work for safety compliance.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and conduct mock drills.
- Monitor housekeeping standards across the project site.
- Ensure fire safety equipment is available, inspected, and functional.
- Coordinate with project engineers and subcontractors on safety compliance.
- Report safety observations and compliance status to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements and company HSE policies.
