Role Description
The Sous Chef role at Catering Units is a full time, on-site position based in India. The Sous Chef supports the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting menu items, ensuring consistent quality and timely service. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, monitoring food preparation and cooking, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, managing inventory, and assisting with menu development. The role also involves coordinating with front-of-house teams for smooth service, training junior cooks,



and helping control food costs and waste. This position requires a hands-on approach in the kitchen and a commitment to high culinary and operational standards.

Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation standards.
- Experience in kitchen operations, including staff supervision, shift coordination, and workflow management.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Ability to support menu planning, portion control, and basic inventory and stock management.
- Relevant professional training or certification in culinary arts or hotel management is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in restaurants, hotels, or catering operations.
