Position: Design Engineer – Interior & Exterior Trims

Location: Bangalore | Experience: 4years –8 Years | Employment Type: Full time

We are seeking a Design Engineer with experience in automotive plastic trim and bumper design. The role involves end-to-end design and development of interior and exterior trim components using CATIA V5, ensuring quality, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Design automotive interior trims (IP, Door Trims, Console, Pillars, Roof Trims, Garnishes).

Design exterior trims & bumper components (Grilles, Claddings, ORVM Covers, Bumper Fascia, Garnishes).

Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.

Apply plastic part design principles (draft, ribs, bosses, wall thickness, tooling feasibility).





Ensure compliance with DFM/DFA, GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, and basic regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Skills

Proficiency in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly, GSD & Drafting).

Experience in automotive plastic injection-molded part design.

Good understanding of interior & exterior trim development.

Knowledge of GD&T;, DFM/DFA, and tooling concepts.

Preferred: Japanese language proficiency
