We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Procurement Engineer to support procurement and sourcing activities for electronics and engineering development projects. The candidate will work closely with the engineering team to identify, source, and procure electronic, electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical components required for prototyping, testing, and product development.
The ideal candidate should possess a basic technical understanding of engineering components, be comfortable communicating with vendors, and have strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Sourcing
- Understand technical requirements shared by the engineering team.
- Source electronic, electrical, and mechanical components from suitable suppliers.
- Review datasheets, product specifications, and technical documentation.
- Identify alternate components and suppliers when required.
- Research product availability, lead times, and pricing.
Vendor Management
- Identify and develop relationships with recent vendors and suppliers.
- Request quotations and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications and order updates.
- Maintain records of supplier information and quotations.
Procurement Operations
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Track orders from placement to delivery.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with internal teams regarding procurement requirements.
- Maintain procurement records and documentation.
Market Research
- Conduct market research for new products, components, and suppliers.
- Compare multiple sourcing options based on technical specifications, pricing, and lead times.
- Stay updated on component availability and market trends.
Inventory & Coordination Support
- Assist in maintaining records of purchased components and materials.
- Coordinate with engineering and stores teams regarding procurement requireme
