Position Overview
A warm and loving family of three based in the Financial District is seeking a full-time Nanny/Household Manager to care for their 2-year-old daughter.
The family resides in New York City through Juneteenth, then relocates to Cape Cod for approximately 10 weeks each summer.
The nanny is given one week off during the summer, so the live-in Cape Cod commitment is roughly nine weeks.
The family follows a RIE-informed parenting philosophy. The mother works from home and is actively involved throughout the day, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively alongside a parent.
The father travels between New York City and Cape Cod Monday through Thursday and is home on weekends.
While the child’s care, safety, and well-being will always be the primary focus, the family is looking for a true partner who enjoys helping the household run smoothly. During naps, independent play, or other downtime, the nanny will transition into household management responsibilities. As their daughter begins school next year, the role will naturally evolve to include a greater emphasis on household management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, takes initiative, anticipates the family’s needs, and enjoys creating a well-run, supportive home workplace.
Accommodations
While in Cape Cod, the nanny will have a private bedroom. The bathroom is shared with the child.
