Role & responsibilities

Evaluate the quality of credit assessments, financial analysis, and cash flow projections for wholesale borrowers.

• Verify compliance with Corporate Credit Policies, risk-appetite frameworks, and central bank exposure norms.

• Assess industry-specific risk analysis, financial covenants, and macro-economic factors considered during appraisal.

• Review credit committee memos, approval deviations, and the justification for pricing or structural exceptions.

• Audit the execution and perfection of security, including charges on fixed assets, hypothecation of current assets, and corporate/personal guarantees.

• Verify pre-disbursement conditions (CPAs) and check if legal vetting, property valuations, and title search reports are current and valid. [1]

• Review complex facility documentation for consortium lending, multiple banking arrangements, and project finance.

• Assess the effectiveness of early warning signal (EWS) frameworks and stock/book-debt audit mechanisms.

• Review account conduct, end-use of funds, timely renewal of limits,



and compliance with financial covenants.

• Identify early signs of stress, potential non-performing assets (NPAs), and credit frauds within the portfolio.

• Audit the restructuring process, stressed asset management, and provisioning logic for downgraded accounts.

• Extract and analyze credit portfolio data using risk models, SQL, or Excel to identify high-risk segments.

• Draft evidence-backed audit findings highlighting core process weaknesses for credit committees and business heads.

• Track the closure of critical audit observations and verify the implementation of corrective actions.
