- MBBS
- Minimum 1 year post MBBS clinical practice
- Emergency, Acute Care, or Ward RMO experience
Role & responsibilities
- Conduct admission exams and document findings.
- Join consultant ward rounds and discuss treatment plans.
- Provide 24hour medical service on rotation.
- Inform consultants of patient condition changes and actions taken.
- Carry out daily morning and evening ward rounds.
- Record examinations, communications, and procedures in patient notes (signed, dated, timed).
- Follow consultant instructions for individual patient care.
- Perform clinical procedures (e.g., phlebotomy, IV drug monitoring).
- Initiate or adjust prescriptions at consultants request.
- Prepare transfer notes from critical care when required.
- Respond to nursing staff requests to visit patients.
- Be familiar with hospital policies, procedures, and risk programmes.
- Report incidents, drug errors, and near misses.
- Participate in audits, governance, and quality improvement.
- Assist with clinical procedures as needed.
- Seek consent only for procedures they personally perform, not on behalf of consultants.
