Uber is hiring for the role of Data Scientist
What The Candidate Will Do
- Be the brains behind Uber’s Finance Data Store (FDS) – ensuring data integrity, reliability, and automation.
- Develop ML-powered financial models & forecasting algorithms to predict financial metrics
- Implement anomaly detection systems to proactively identify and resolve inconsistencies in financial data.
- Work closely with business teams (Finance, Product, Data Science, Operations, Engineering) to solve high-stakes financial challenges.
- Extract deep insights from complex financial datasets and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Design impactful dashboards & visualizations that provide real-time financial intelligence.
- Automate financial reporting pipelines—eliminating inefficiencies and manual work.
- Optimize and scale financial data workflows for cost savings and operational excellence.
- Be the go-to expert for everything related to financial data science at Uber.
Basic Qualifications
- SQL expertise – ability to write complex queries for large-scale data analysis.
- Experience in data visualization & dashboarding (Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with financial data, reporting, and automation.
- Excellent storytelling skills – translating data into actionable insights for leadership
Required Skills
- Python/R expertise for advanced modeling and automation.
- Experience in financial modeling and forecasting
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques for anomaly detection & predictive analytics.
- Robust problem-solving mindset with a passion for data-driven business decisions
- Background in FinTech, Finance or Payments.
