Job Role: Librarian

Location: Sarjapura, Bangalore

Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including circulation, shelving, and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain the library collection by selecting, acquiring, and cataloging recent materials following the school's curriculum and educational objectives.
- Assist students and faculty in locating and accessing information resources, both print and digital, to support research and coursework.
- Provide guidance and instruction to students in library skills, information literacy, and research methods.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and services into the curriculum, supporting project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.
- Promote reading and literacy initiatives through book displays, author visits, and other engaging activities to encourage a lifelong love of learning.
- Stay current with trends in library science, educational technology,



and children's literature to enhance library services and programs.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment in the library that fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the library.
- Participate in professional development activities and professional organizations to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in librarianship.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working in a school library or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of library cataloging systems, classification schemes, and information retrieval tools.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital resources for libraries.
