Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Operations Engineer (Senior DB Ops)to lead database operations, automation, and reliability initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments. This role requires deep expertise in database platforms, DevOps practices, monitoring, and Azure ecosystem services.
The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) architecture, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with Infrastructure, Application, and Security teams.
This role demands strong troubleshooting skills, end-to-end operational ownership, and an automation-first mindset,
with the ability to support mission-critical production systems in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own database reliability, availability, performance, scalability, and resilience across Production, UAT, QA, and Development environments
Lead database operations across SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, and other Azure/cloud database services
Manage and ensure robust database backup, restore, and recovery strategies aligned with RPO/RTO objectives
Perform database maintenance activities including index optimization, statistics management, and data integrity validation
Monitor and troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, replication latency, long-running queries, and performance bottlenecks
Design, configure, and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions including Always On Availability Groups, replication, and failover mechanisms
