Position Overview

Kanakia International School – IB, Chembur is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced MYP English Teacher to deliver engaging and inquiry-driven English Language and Literature lessons to students in Grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking while fostering strong communication skills through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). The teacher will create a student-centred learning setting that promotes inquiry, conceptual understanding, and intercultural awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework.
- Foster students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and presenting.
- Develop students' analytical, creative, and critical thinking abilities through the study of diverse literary and non-literary texts.
- Design inquiry-based, concept-driven, and differentiated learning experiences to meet the needs of diverse learners.




- Integrate the MYP Global Contexts, Key Concepts, Related Concepts, and ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills into teaching and assessment.
- Promote academic integrity and effective research and communication skills.
- Create an inclusive, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learner agency and collaboration.
- Incorporate technology and digital learning tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Curriculum Planning & Assessment
- Develop unit planners, lesson plans, and assessments in alignment with the IB MYP curriculum framework.
- Design authentic formative and summative assessments using MYP assessment criteria.
- Monitor student progress through continuous assessment and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to support student growth.
