Position Overview

Kanakia International School – IB, Chembur is seeking a passionate, student-centred, and experienced Hindi & Marathi Teacher to teach students from Grades 1–6 across the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). The ideal candidate will foster language acquisition, cultural appreciation, and effective communication through inquiry-based and concept-driven learning experiences aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Hindi and Marathi lessons aligned with the IB PYP and MYP frameworks.
- Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, writing, and presentation skills in both languages.
- Promote a love for Indian languages, literature, and culture through meaningful learning experiences.
- Create inquiry-based, concept-driven, and differentiated learning experiences to cater to diverse learners.
- Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, learner agency, and student voice into classroom practices.




- Incorporate technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom workplace that supports student wellbeing and engagement.

Curriculum Planning & Assessment
- Design unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments in accordance with IB standards.
- Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers and specialist teachers to integrate language learning within Units of Inquiry wherever appropriate.
- Develop formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, portfolios, and assessment data.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports student growth and reflection.
- Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives.

Student Development
- Encourage confidence in oral and written communication.
- Foster intercultural understanding and appreciation for linguistic diversity.
