Role & responsibilities
- Inspect machined components and assemblies as per engineering drawings.
- Check dimensions such as length, diameter, hole position, thickness, and tolerances using measuring instruments.
- Use measuring tools like:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Dial Gauge
- Measuring Tape
- Ensure all quality checkpoints are completed before dispatch of machines/materials.
- Verify paint quality, powder coating, hardening, and finishing standards.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports in Excel and registers on a timely basis.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections.
- Follow up with vendors regarding quality issues, powder coating, hardening, and material quality.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, layouts, and BOMs.
- Coordinate with production and machining departments for quality improvements.
- Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance.
- Support customer inspections and internal audits when required.
Preferred candidate profile
- Understanding of tolerances and measurement techniques.
- Valuable knowledge of quality inspection processes.
- Basic computer knowledge with Excel reporting.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 13 years of experience in quality engineering within the manufacturing/automation/SPM industry.
- Experience in handling vendor quality follow-ups.
- Knowledge of powder coating and hardening processes will be preferred.
