Role & responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Crash & Impact CAE analysis for Instrument Panel (IP) programs.
- Perform Head Impact (ECE R21), Knee Impact, Low Temperature Impact, and Trailer Back Load Case simulations.
- Develop and execute LS-DYNA simulation models, including boundary conditions, contact definitions, and material cards.
- Review and validate FE models received from the meshing team before simulation.
- Analyze simulation results and recommend design improvements.
- Correlate CAE results with physical test data and perform root cause analysis.
- Guide and mentor Crash CAE Engineers while ensuring quality deliverables.
- Prepare project plans, manage resources, and ensure timely project execution.
- Generate technical reports and present simulation findings to internal teams and OEM customers.
- Ensure compliance with automotive safety regulations such as ECE R21 and FMVSS 201.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- 79 years of experience in Automotive CAE, with a minimum of 5 years in Crash/Impact simulation.
- Mandatory experience in Instrument Panel (IP)/Dashboard Crash CAE programs.
- Robust hands-on expertise in LS-DYNA (Explicit & Implicit), ANSA, HyperMesh, and HyperView.
- Sound knowledge of automotive interior safety regulations (ECE R21, FMVSS 201).
- Experience in plastic, foam, and trim material modelling with strain rate-dependent material behaviour.
- Ability to correlate CAE simulation results with physical test data and drive design improvements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer interaction skills.
- Prior experience with European OEM programs will be an added advantage.
- Ability to lead teams, manage project deliverables, and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
