Chessworld AI is building an AI-powered data and intelligence ecosystem for chess. We digitize offline tournament games, livestream boards, and provide personalized insights to players, coaches, parents, and tournament organizers.

We are looking for a Founding Lead Engineer who can take complete ownership of our technology and build products from the ground up.

What You’ll Do:
- Own the product architecture and full-stack development.
- Build scalable web applications, APIs, databases, and internal systems.
- Work on chess game digitization, AI-powered analytics, livestreaming, tournament registrations, and player intelligence.
- Convert chess-specific product ideas into intuitive features.
- Improve system performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Review code and guide junior developers and interns.
- Work directly with the founder, chess players, coaches, and tournament organizers.
- Move quickly from idea to prototype to production.

What We’re Looking For
- Chess player with a strong understanding of competitive chess — mandatory.




- 3–5 years of full-stack development experience.
- Prior experience working at an early-stage startup.
- Strong experience with React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks.
- Robust backend experience with Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
- Experience with databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and deployments.
- Ability to independently design systems and make practical technical decisions.
- Strong product thinking and understanding of user problems.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup with changing priorities.
- A hands-on builder who enjoys coding, shipping, testing, and improving products.

Good to Have
- FIDE rating or competitive tournament experience.
- Experience with chess engines, PGN data, Stockfish, computer vision, AI/ML, or video streaming.
- Experience building and scaling consumer technology products.
- Experience leading a small engineering team.
